G. Loomis Salmon Rods$ 200.00 G.Loomis Salmon Rods are designed for a special technique called MOOCHING. This style of fishing is done from a boat by slowly trolling or drifting with the wind or tide. Both methods are effective, but each requires a rod that will allow the fish to chew on the bait and pull it down without much resistance. That's why our Salmon Rods feature a soft, moderate action. It lets the rod bend easily when the fish first hits the bait so he'll hang on a little longer. (At which point, you set the hook and hang on a lot longer.) Of course, these rods also have to handle the heavy weight required to keep your bait in the fish zone, so we build them with plenty of POWER to boot. The standard mooching rod is nine feet long, but if you fish several rigs at one time you may want to use longer rods on the outside rigs to keep your lines and lures separated. Longer rods also make it easier to handle the long leaders necessary in clear water with SPOOKY fish.

Loomis Saltwater Popping Rods$ 130.00 Our popping rods were originally designed for casting LIVE BAIT (mainly shrimp), under a popping cork out on the flats, but freshwater anglers have found umpteen other uses for them as well. These rods have a relatively soft tip, which allows your bait to land softly and QUIETLY, even on long casts, another plus when the water's skinny and the fish spook easily. At the same time, they're powerful rods, capable of handling surprisingly large fish. They come in a variety of lengths for different applications. The top four guides and tip-top feature oversized rings to handle large knots for shock tippets. GREAT rods for great fish

Loomis Spin Jig IMX Spinning Series$ 220.00 A real bass fisherman never, but never admitted using a spinning rod, unless it was for panfish, and even then it was iffy. But times are changing and so are techniques. First out of the closet were the die-hard smallmouth anglers. They favored the spinning rod because they needed lighter line and smaller lures to fool those super cautious brown bass. Then, as finesse fishing came into play, more and more anglers found the spinning rod to be the perfect solution for the clear water lakes where spotted bass and smallmouths abound. The only negative was nobody ever really offered the nice, fast-action rods that the casting crowd enjoyed. That was until we introduced the Spin Jig Series. It’s the unique, blend of dynamic tapers and super sensitive materials that helped make these the rod of choice for serious finesse anglers. Grubs, small worms, hair jigs, split shot rigs, drop shot rigs, tiny crankbaits... you name it, the spin jig rod is your answer. Click to BuyG. Loomis Steelhead Casting Rods$ 175.00 We believe the two most important factors in a steelhead rod are line control and SENSITIVITY. That's two reasons why we build our Steelhead Rods in such a wide variety of lengths and power ratings. No matter where you fish or which technique you choose, there's a steelhead rod that offers you maximum CONTROL. If you fish small coastal streams, you can get by with a shorter rod. If, on the other hand, you frequent big, wide rivers, longer rods are definitely the way to go (for a variety of reasons, including optimum line angle, river drag and sensitivity). As for sensitivity, it doesn't matter whether you plunk, drift-fish from shore, or use a boat: knowing what's going on at the end of your line is absolutely crucial for successful steelheading. These fish may be big, but for the most part their bite is incredibly subtle. That's why we DESIGN these rods with a fairly soft tip and the most sensitive materials possible. Select the rod that matches your angling situation and be sure to give careful consideration to the different levels of graphite performance available. Click to BuyG. Click to BuyG. Loomis Surf Rods$ 200.00 Extremely POWERFUL, lightweight, high energy spinning and casting rods that give you unbelievable distance and accuracy. Distance is important because no matter how good the rod, you can never quite reach that outside edge where the bait and the fish always seem to be. When the action moves close to shore anyone can be in the zone, but it takes a special rod design to get you out there where they're out of everyone else's reach. The secret is a faster "RECOVERY RATE." The faster a rod can recover from a loaded (flexed) position to a "quiet" (straight) position, the less line slap (friction) you experience. Less friction means higher line speeds resulting in longer casts. It's the one factor that increases casting DISTANCE more than any other, except maybe the size of lure you're fishing. Combine that with the feather-like weight of these rods and you'll wonder how you ever fished without them.
Click to BuyG. Loomis Trout Spinning Series Rods$ 100.00 A dynamic collection of light-duty and ultra-light freshwater spinning rods. We designed them primarily for trout and panfish, but they satisfy a variety of different APPLICATIONS like, small in-line spinners for bass; darts and light jigs for shad; small baits for bonefish; spoons for sea trout; even spinners for silver salmon if you're willing to give it a shot. Now, don't get us wrong... they aren't like our spin jig rods. They are more of a LIGHT-DUTY all-around spinning rod with relatively soft butt sections and light tips. None are rated for over 10-pound line and most are in the 4- to 6-pound test range. If you're fishing in tight quarters or really small creeks, we'd suggest the shorter models, but if you frequent larger streams or ponds and lakes, we'd recommend the longer rods because they protect light line better and give you increased casting DISTANCE and a longer, more effective hook set.

Click to BuyG. Loomis Venture Fly Reels$ 100.00 In the old days, even the finest fly anglers thought of their reels as little more than a line holder. Not to say they didn't appreciate the craftsmanship of a finely machined fly reel, they just felt the skills for fighting fish on a fly rod were with the fisherman, not the workings of a reel. Their main requirement of a reel was simplicity. They would appreciate our new Venture reels. A quality reel at a bewildering price, each Venture reel is a sturdy, cast aluminum vision of beauty and simplicity. Featuring a wide-range adjustable disc drag, quick release spool, and a rich, champagne gold anodized finish, the Venture reels are available in three sizes: #3, #5 and #7.
